Thank you for this information. I have had limited updates until Google revealed this blog to me today. I am Klaus' cousin Franz Niedermeyer. My wife and I live in Harrisburg PA. It was my father, Klaus' Uncle Ernst, who kept me up to speed on Klaus' condition up until his passing.
It pleases me to no end that so many of you have done this blogging here. I only met Klaus once at Christmas a few years ago when we met at my parents' place in Baltimore, but I appreciated having another close relative in the States, even if it wasn't expected to be permanent.
Klaus made a very positive impression on us, and I am saddened that our relationship never grew closer. I'll say once more, though, that I am delighted that he was not lonely in New York.

I am also the couisin of klaus.I met him only one time in my life,when i was a small girl.But i always remember him and i had the wish to met him again.
Our mothers are sisters and i am very sad that we nether had any contact.
I guess we would have had the same crazieness :-)
But i will see him again in heaven and then we will laugh a lot,i guess.
